UPDATE

Posted by Kel McGowan on April 17, 2012 at 6:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Ok guys sadly we will no longer be using this website to post news.

I'm having to cut back on my expenditure and part of that involves cancelling my subscription to webs. Unfortunately we cannot use the free version because of the sheer amount of news we post. So we will have to resort to posting our news on good old tumblr.

We have a new tumblr especially for our cause www.mcflymetrohq.tumblr.com

This will not affect our twitter or facebook.

We WILL keep this site up and use it as a calendar, but for regular news you either need to be folloing us on tumblr. If you don't have tumblr, but DO have twitter, never fear because we've turned on the setting on tumblr to post a twitter notification for everything we post on there.

Metro forever.

The article just a load of rubbish about how Amy Winehouse is always there supporting Tyler James. TJ, you might remember, supported McFly on one of their tours (Wonderland was it?). I think he got dropped by his label (he went down like a lead balloon at the McFly tour) but he seems to have made a reappearance, possibly on The Voice? He's trying for the sympathy votes by barking on about his dead mate by the looks of things.

Anyway, the important thing is that you can see Tom on the above photo, which also features Tyler and Amy (both circled) and Jon Lee from S Club 7. Sweet. Love the outfit Tom *smirk*

glee mission part 2

Posted by Kel McGowan on April 16, 2012 at 12:50 PM Comments comments (0)

For the 2nd part of Mission McFly's Glee mission is to show how like Glee has affected our day to day lives but with McFly. As we all know the whole purpose of Glee is to show how much confidence we have with ourselves and to express this through music which is obviously what McFly have done through songs like 'One For The Radio' basically declaring that they don't tolerate haters as the lyrics  say 'we all look the same in the dark'

The Mission

If you are a massive fan of both McFly and Glee (Galaxy Gleeks)  and they have made a massive impact to your lives in whatever way then read on. The only thing you need to participate are a video camera, personal story and a YouTube account and be able to answer the following:

Film yourself, answering the following questions:

1. Why do you think Glee should cover a McFly song?
2. Which song of McFly do you think should be covered on Glee (explain into detail)?
3. Please share a personal, emotional moment in your life which relates to either Glee or McFly or both. We are looking for people who can give us personal experiences in which they were completely themselves, had confidence and were helped by either the band or the TV show. This can be ANYTHING - any sort of experience or personal story will do.
4. What do you think about the Glee Mission that mission:MCFLY has organised?
5. Do you think the Glee Mission will work? (Trick question, we'll leave it up to you if you can find the correct answer!)
6. Finish your video by saying "Don't Stop Believing" into the camera.

Next upload the video to your YouTube channel and set it to private, this way only people who have the direct link will be able to view it. Now you need to send the direct link in an email to contact@missionmcfly.com

You have until middnight on Sunday 22nd April to get your entries in.

Please also sign this twition HERE.

Glasgow Review *SPOILERS REMOVED*

Posted by Kel McGowan on April 14, 2012 at 5:15 PM Comments comments (0)

After more than their fair share of reality tv shows, McFly have decided they can win anything, and are back on tour chasing those female hearts that propelled them to supergroup status almost a decade ago. With anarchy wild amongst the largely female audience, and shouts of "We don't care," rather than "Burn your bra," the four-piece on their Keep Calm And Play Louder tour certainly fulfilled the second part of that agreement. There was not a lot of calm in the house, with the seated crowd rebelling and swarming the front of the stage, whilst the two upper tiers bounced in unity, in an attempt to get themselves 100ft closer to their idols.
McFly may have lost their denim cut-offs and puppy fat, but it would seem their voices are still to break in the whiney tones of  *** *** *** *****. Maintaining their Animaniac energy regardless of their new muscular physique, the sing-a-long crowd were probably similar to those who'll be attending Girls' Day Out at The SECC next weekend. The happy-go-lucky **** **** and * ***** **** *** kept the candyfloss high on the go, with the audience going wilder for a guitar solo than a 10% off day at Topshop.
Musically the four-piece cannot really be faulted, with their impressive harmonies and flawless playing. They are just incredibly irritating if you're not a McFly fan, and I can now confirm, if you weren't one to start with, seeing the pop-punkers all grown-up and live is in no way going to change your opinion. In this case it has only cemented it. Chatting with the crowd between tracks full of cheeky-chappie humour, they slag Dougie Poynter for his jungle win before shouty new track ** *******. Sending the two middle-aged woman next to me into the start of their zumba marathon for the remainder of the show, I should probably just be pleased it wasn't powerhoop they were into.
Another new track, ***, is proudly introduced, a notable attempt at stepping into big boy territory with the extra synth and heavy bass on this track. Said to be their next single and involving a lot of jumping, the heavier track goes down well with fans who look happy to graduate into this pseudo electro-rock territory. Racing through their top hits and five albums, ********* and *** ***** *** keep the crowd bounding before throwing even more hits into the set for a covers medley. Beginning with their own ********* *****, they meander into Bon Jovi, Rihanna and Gotye to name a few, with no rocking the crowd to bedtime as now they're all grown up only the bar awaits. After the surf-pop and slick moves of * *******, McFly leave fans hanging in their boy band era with their last top-ten single ***** * *****. With rumours of their sixth album being released shortly, let's just hope McFly grown-up don't infect the nation as they did eight years ago. Bieber Fever is enough to content with these days.

This is the worst review I've read in a long while, they are nothing like this and speaking as a fan who has seen them on pretty much every tour they have ever done this is their best tour by miles!

McFlywood Chapter 4

Posted by Kel McGowan on April 14, 2012 at 11:10 AM Comments comments (0)

"Simulation terminated, simulation terminated." Harry sat up and looked rounding gasping as the sewers and the boar disappeared. They were in a large room that was plated on every surface with fine grey plastic that reflected their every move. Tom was at the entrance with a tray of medical supplies and he hurried over to them. With quick efficiency, he pulled Danny and Dougie off each other and applied them into the recovery position, wiping the sweat off Dougie's forehead with a damp cloth.

"I told you they weren't ready," he muttered as Harry fell backwards and lay on the floor, staring at the ceiling in defeat "They're only level two agents, you know they need more training!"

"We both agreed that they'd made a lot of progress!" snapped Harry. "Those were your exact words! And I thought you were at a family meal?"

"I came back. An evening with the inlaws proved to be too horrific a thought and I chickened out. And they are improving. But they still aren't ready to take on stuff like this!" replied Tom. He drew a needle up full of bright blue liquid and injected it into Danny. He reared up with a huge gasp of air and clutched at Tom, shaking and swallowing. "I mean look at them, they clearly had no idea what they were handling." He pulled Danny's jacket off and began to peel his T-shirt back. Danny moaned as the half formed scab came away. "Tsk! Look at this!" Danny's eyes were watering. "Do you want something for the pain?" His patient nodded wearily.

"No, don't give it to him. We wouldn't have painkillers if this was a real mission!" growled Harry. He felt angry at Danny. Angry because his and Dougie's failure had reflected upon him as a leader. Jack would be laughing about this for weeks to come. If he ever found out about it and you could better your bottom dollar he would. He never missed a trick that man. He squirmed inside with rage until he was poisoned with it.

"But this isn't a real mission..." started Tom but Harry cut him off.

"I said no Tom!" Harry spat on the floor and stormed off, leaving his three team mates lying there in the simulation room. Tom chewed his lip impatiently and injected Danny with the drug anyway and slowly began to clean his wound.

"He's angry with us isn't he?" mumbled Danny. He blearily looked at Tom with wounded eyes. Tom hesitated but nodded and Danny winced. Not from the pain, but from the frustration that Harry was going to be a nusiance to work with until he and Dougie had proved themselves again. He just expected so much from them. Too much sometimes. Tom was right, they weren't ready. Not yet. "How's Doug?"

"Unconscious. He'll wake up tomorrow with a hangover the size of New York but there's no lasting damage I don't think." He paused, with the cotton wool dripping antiseptic in his hand. "He tried to vanish you both didn't he? I was watching from outside."

"I think so. I passed out so I don't know whether he managed it."

"He did. The effort nearly killed him. Especially as he was trying to crawl along the ceiling carrying you." He glanced at Dougie, lying pale and still on the floor beside them. "He will kill himself one day trying to outdo his abilities. He won't listen when we warn him not to, he just keeps pushing himself to his limit."

"He doesn't know his limit. Can't blame him for wanting to find out."

"It's the ways in which he does so though Danny. We could easily test him if he'd come in the lab..."

"You know he won't do that Tom and you know why!" hissed Danny. "Not after..." Tom held a white gloved hand up to silence him, showing understanding. "His parents..." Danny fell silent. "Poor kid...I wish he'd let me help him...I can help..." He passed out again and remained there as Tom gently cleaned his wound and wrapped linen bandage around his stomach.

He awoke the next morning, lying in one of the bunks that lined the walls of the Torchwood office. Tom must have put him there. He eased himself up, felling bruised and battered all over. He could feel a slight swelling on his chest and stomach and examined the bandages. They were reassuringly clean and applied well. Tight enough to stop the bleeding but loose enough to relieve any tension in the muscles. The bunk creaked underneath him. It was just wood and a thin matress stuffed with sacking. The blanket was itchy wool. Danny wrinkled his nose. He'd always wondered why, with all the technology that Flywood had, that they hadn't found a way of making the bunkbeds at least a little comfier. They were so... primitive, was the word he thought he ought to be looking for.

"Oh, so you're awake are you?" Danny groaned and looked over to the speaker. Harry was sat on a desk eying him with venom. Don't start, not now. "Good, get washed and have some breakfast. I want you ready for a team meeting in half an hour. Make sure lizard boy is with you." Harry nodded at the bunk above Danny's. "Don't be late or there'll be trouble." He stomped off. Danny rolled back onto his mattress and sheltered his eyes from the bright light that filled Flywood 24/7. This was not going to be pleasant. He set about trying to rouse Dougie but was having little success. He couldn't keep his eyes open, despite how long and hard Danny gently shook his shoulder. So in the end, Danny just had to leave him and get ready himself. Dougie watched him get dressed and wash his face in the sink through half shut eyes. He closed them again and snuggled deeper under the blankets looking as rough as someone that had been out on the town all weekend. He felt Danny's big hand reach under the blankets and softly stroke his hair and he smiled to himself.

"You stay there Doug. I'll handle grumpy guts."

"Thanks Dan..." whispered Dougie before falling back asleep. Danny watched him with a curious expression on his face. He smiled as he gazed at the bundle of blankets and even more so when a slim tail covered in shiny green scales emerged from underneath. It coiled gently, seemingly waving at him and then moved back under to be with its owner.

McFlywood Chapter 3

Posted by Kel McGowan on April 14, 2012 at 11:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Harry was going so fast that he flew out of the chute and would've gone straight into the wall opposite if Danny hadn't braced himself and taken full impact. He caught his friend, barely rocking backwards and helped him to stand up straight.

"Thanks," murmured Harry, quietly appreciating Danny's strength. He wasn't particularly bright but he was the physical backing of the group and a solid opponent for anyone that might cross them. Dougie was skipping lightly, avoiding the damp patches on the floor with ease. He was in his element down here in the humidity and he clearly relished the warm moisture that seeped through the air. Even the smell didn't disturb him, he merely narrowed his nose. "Like a pig in muck isn't he?" Dougie heard and turned round to smile at them brightly, his eyes glowing in the darkness. He stuck his tongue out and waggled it with glee. He continued to gently trot ahead of them, pausing to explore little nooks and crannies. Ahead in the gloom, red eyes blinked back and them and rustling of tiny clawed feet echoed. "I hate rats," muttered Harry. "Nasty little swines. They bring nothing but disease. I can't believe people actually keep them as pets." Danny didn't reply, his mind on his pet gerbil at home. Little Bruce was probably waking up about now, looking forward to some tasty tidbit from his food tray. Danny always left plenty of food in case a mission came up. Tasty seeds and bits of carrot and juicy raspberries. That rodent ate better meals than he did. Still, he was a bachelor and that wasn't looking like changing any time. Danny sighed inwardly. With the schedule he ran at Flywood, or lack of rather, it wasn't surprising the girls got fed up with him.

Without warning Dougie bent down ahead of them and quickly flapped his hand to signal them to freeze and slowly lower themselves down to the ground. Danny and Harry crouched and listened. Dougie's shoulders were tensed and apart from the occasional twitch that one gets when you have a slight irritation on your skin like a mild reaction to soap, he was still as still could be. A weird stench began to creep across Danny and Harry's nostrils and they scrunched them up in disgust. Their sense of smell had become dead to the usual stink of raw sewage that sucked up the breathable air like a vacuum. This was a new smell, of things unnatural. Like burning meat and hot metal. They began to hear a weird snuffling sound. Like a pig rooting through tree roots and leaf litter for mushrooms. A black shape appeared in the steam, huge, with bristling hairs on its back. Danny swore under his breath. Whatever it was, it was not supposed to be on this planet and even if it was, it was too big to be naturally here. It emerged under a spot of evening summer light that shown in from the red bricks above.

The golden dappling its leather hide look strange and unhappy. Like beauty coinciding with hideousness, the two just did not mix well. It was some sort of wild alien boar. And imposing to the last. It paused, saw Dougie and roared. It charged. It could not match the alien boy's speed however and Dougie was away in a flash scuttling up the walls, across the ceiling and down the other side of the sewer. He paused, gasping for breath as the boar skidded to a halt in confusion. It had not seen Danny and Harry, apparently its eyesight was very poor in the dark. But it could hear and smell and it turned at the sound of Dougie's gasps. It roared and charged again. This time, Dougie hissed, unsheathed a set of claws that he did not have a moment before and leapt high into the air. The boar stopped in stupid slowness and Dougie came flying down on top of it. His tail erupted through the back of his shorts with a loud ripping sound and he clung on for dear life as the boar tossed, turned and squealed in pain, the claws cutting into his raw hide. Dougie rode the giant pig like a wild horse tamer and began to flag quite quickly. He might have been agile but his strength was limited and the other two knew he couldn't last forever like that. Without warning it threw him off and he hit the wet concrete with a sickening thud. He lay very still, the wind knocked out of him completely. The boar began to paw the ground with its hoof as it observed the trembling ball of half lizard, half person in front of it. Danny jumped forward.

"Oi pig brain! Over here!" Dougie looked up in panic as the boar charged but suddenly changed direction at the last possible second before it hit him. He was showered in small sparks from where the hooves had scraped on the floor. He gasped in pain and staggered to his feet, still winded.

"No, don't," he croaked, stretching a hand out. "It's too qui.." He watched in horror as Danny tried to leap out of the way Dougie style and was tossed up by a stout nose and pair of tusks. He went flying through the air and crashed into the wall with a loud grunt. He slid down the damp brickwork groaning. Dougie, still clutching his chest, limped over, painfully aware that the boar could charge at them again any second. "Danny? Danny, you ok?" Danny whimpered and pulled open his leather jacket. A bright red stain was forming down his side, staining his shirt and he moaned in pain when Dougie lightly touched it. "Oh no..." He shouldered his team mate as well as he could but it was a strain, Danny being considerably heavier than him and unable to stand too well. The boar eyed them with a mean piggy glare. It charged. Dougie summoned all of his strength and leaped, hauling Danny up with him. They hit the ceiling and Dougie wrapped his thin arm around Danny, gripping onto the ceiling with his spare hand. He took a deep breath and they both disappeared. Within seconds they had reappeared again, Danny was fainting and his shape was limp in Dougie's arm. Their image faded again but slowly began to come back into view, flickering like an old black and white film.

"Dougie, stop!" yelled Harry. "You'll wear yourself out, you can't vanish both of you!" Dougie seemed to have not heard and with a gasp of intense pain, the team mates both vanished. Harry observed a slow rippling effect on the ceiling as his team mates, hidden, were crawling upside down towards him. But he had other things on his mind. When he called out the boar had seen him and it observed silently. Harry swore and began to edge away from it, trying not to provoke a response. But he fell, tripping over a loose stone that had fallen from the rotting walls. To his left, Dougie and Danny fell from the ceiling with a loud thud and landed in a shallow pool of water that had conveniently collected below them. Their invisibility instantly wiped away and they both lay unconscious. Harry struggled over to them and flung himself over their bodies and the pig charged. He winced, ready for the blow and the inevitable agony that would come with it.
